HISTORY
Our origin
Located at 2 km from Gorafe, in a unique and exceptional place for its privileged views. The beauty of the landscape that is enjoyed from its private terrace and the tranquility that is breathed make it the lodging that you are looking for if you want to disconnect and you need peace and tranquility to rest, since the silence will accompany you continuously
After decades of neglect, the caves were for ten years carefully restored retaining their original and traditional structure. We have integrated kitchens, bathrooms and garages, being perfectly integrated into their surroundings and using materials such as local stone. They are eco-sustainable houses, since 100% of the energy used comes from a solar-wind installation.
Accommodation and stays
The caves have all the comforts and are fully equipped with everything you need: refrigerator, microwave, kitchen, kitchenware, TV, sheets, towels, appliances, fully equipped bathroom, fireplace, sofas, barbecue, private parking in the own cave… We could not forget to mention the decoration as far as we have tried it to be welcoming and tasteful with traditional details and antique pieces.

Due to its orientation and altitude (1000 m) we will enjoy the best sunsets that nature offers us and no obstacle will prevent us from taking the desired photos.Early in the morning and taking a short walk around the area, we observe the presence of small groups of mountain goats or the flight of vultures and golden eagles, among other birds.
At night, taking advantage of the absence of pollution, both light and atmospheric, we can get a complete stellar contemplation with great clarity.
If the visibility of the day allows it, Sierra Nevada is always on the horizon so that we can see it in its entire splendor.

A deposit of €50 in cash will be requested upon arrival, returned in the afternoon of the day of departure. The pet can never be left alone in the cave.
Eco-sustainable accommodation
It is an integral project of energy self-sufficiency that encourages savings and the use of own resources and whose objective is to promote responsible tourism. We have a solar-wind installation. Here there is no electrical connection to the network, no telephone, no city gas. However, it does not involve a lack of amenities; there is TV, hot water, wood heating, small appliances, swimming pool, good Internet coverage, etc.
A 100% sustainable house where the caves as bioclimatic housing maintain an interior temperature that ranges between 18 and 23 Celsius degrees, so heating or air conditioning are not necessary. Restored with local materials, the façade lined with stone integrates into the landscape, the interior painted with lime for the walls to breathe and 15 hectares of organically grown almond trees guarantee fuel for the chimneys that heat the caves in winter. The remains of pruning cover the garden to stop erosion, as well as the water coming out of the septic tank with purified biological filter that we use to irrigate the land around the caves reforested with native species, rainwater is collected in a cistern and used for parts of the caves such as the bathroom and garden. The caves are oriented to the south with views of Sierra Nevada and 1000 m of altitude.
